It is not considered good to make cots in Panchak. According to scholars, doing so may cause a crisis.
During Panchak, when there is Dhanishtha Nakshatra, one should not collect things like grass, wood, etc., there is a fear of fire.
One should not travel in the south direction during Panchak, because the south direction is considered to be the direction of Yama. Traveling in the south direction is considered harmful in these constellations.
During the Panchak, the roof of the house should not be built when Revathi Nakshatra is running, according to scholars. This causes loss of money and trouble in the house.
If the dead body is to be cremated

The advice of a qualified pundit must be taken before performing the last rites of the dead body in Panchak. If this does not happen, then five mannequins should be made with flour or kush (a type of grass) on the bier, and these five should also be cremated with complete rituals like a corpse.

मंगलवार को शुरू होने वाला पंचक अग्नि पंचक कहलाता है। इन पांच दिनों में कोर्ट कचहरी और विवाद आदि के फैसले, अपना हक प्राप्त करने वाले काम किए जा सकते हैं। इस पंचक में अग्नि का भय होता है। इस पंचक में किसी भी तरह का निर्माण कार्य, औजार और मशीनरी कामों की शुरुआत करना अशुभ माना गया है। इनसे नुकसान हो सकता है।
मृत्यु पंचक

शनिवार को शुरू होने वाला पंचक मृत्यु पंचक कहलाता है। नाम से ही पता चलता है कि अशुभ दिन से शुरू होने वाला ये पंचक मृत्यु के बराबर परेशानी देने वाला होता है। इन पांच दिनों में किसी भी तरह के जोखिम भरे काम नहीं करना चाहिए। इसके प्रभाव से विवाद, चोट, दुर्घटना आदि होने का खतरा रहता है।
चोर पंचक

शुक्रवार को शुरू होने वाला पंचक चोर पंचक कहलाता है। विद्वानों के अनुसार इस पंचक में यात्रा करने की मनाही है। इस पंचक में लेन-देन, व्यापार और किसी भी तरह के सौदे भी नहीं करने चाहिए। मना किए गए कार्य करने से धन हानि हो सकती है।
अन्य पंचक

इसके अलावा बुधवार और गुरुवार को शुरू होने वाले पंचक में पांच कामों के अलावा किसी भी तरह के शुभ काम किए जा सकते हैं।
पंचक में न करें ये 5 काम

पंचक में चारपाई बनवाना अच्छा नहीं माना जाता। विद्वानों के अनुसार ऐसा करने से कोई संकट आ सकता है।
पंचक के दौरान जिस समय धनिष्ठा नक्षत्र हो, उस समय घास, लकड़ी आदि जलने वाली वस्तुएं एकत्र नहीं करनी चाहिए, इससे आग लगने का भय रहता है।
पंचक के दौरान दक्षिण दिशा में यात्रा नही करनी चाहिए, क्योंकि दक्षिण दिशा, यम की दिशा मानी गई है। इन नक्षत्रों में दक्षिण दिशा की यात्रा करना हानिकारक माना गया है।
पंचक के दौरान जब रेवती नक्षत्र चल रहा हो, उस समय घर की छत नहीं बनाना चाहिए, ऐसा विद्वानों का कहना है। इससे धन हानि और घर में क्लेश होता है।
यदि शव का अंतिम संस्कार करना हो

पंचक में शव का अंतिम संस्कार करने से पहले किसी योग्य पंडित की सलाह अवश्य लेनी चाहिए। यदि ऐसा न हो पाए तो शव के साथ पांच पुतले आटे या कुश (एक प्रकार की घास) से बनाकर अर्थी पर रखना चाहिए और इन पांचों का भी शव की तरह पूर्ण विधि-विधान से अंतिम संस्कार करना चाहिए।
