Therefore, the qualities of these Rahu Ketu etc. will also be the same as those of Saturn and Mars i.e. Tamasic.

चन्द्रमा से मन ग्रहण करते हैं और अहं व मन का संयोग हमारे व्यवहार में सुधार लाता है। ये दोनों ग्रह सूर्य और चन्द्र ज्योतिष में ऐसे ग्रह हैं जिनसे व्यक्ति के चरित्र और व्यवहार का निरूपण आसानी से किया जा सकता है।
ज्योतिष में चन्द्रमा पर बहुत बल दिया गया है।

ज्योतिष शास्त्र अनुसार ... चन्द्रमा के महत्वपूर्ण लक्षण हमारे शरीर में तरल रूप में विद्यमान हैं जिनमें कफ, रूधिर, मन, बाई आंख, भावनाएं मनोवैज्ञानिक समस्याएं और माँ आदि महत्वपूर्ण हैं। किसी जातक की कुंडली में अष्टम भाव में स्थित चन्द्रमा बालारिष्ट का कारक होता है।
शनि के साथ द्वादश भाव में स्थित क्षीण चन्द्रमा पागलपन और उन्माद देता है जबकि शनि, केतु और चन्द्रमा की युति व्यक्ति को पागल बना देती है।
लग्न आत्मा होता है और चन्द्रमा प्राण होते हैं। हम सूर्य से अहं और चन्द्रमा से मन ग्रहण करते हैं और अहं व मन का संयोग हमारे व्यवहार में सुधार लाता है।
ये दोनों ग्रह सूर्य और चन्द्र ज्योतिष में ऐसे ग्रह हैं जिनसे व्यक्ति के चरित्र और व्यवहार का निरूपण आसानी से किया जा सकता है।
भारतीय ज्योतिष मे चन्द्रमा को इतना महत्व दिया गया है कि जन्म लग्न के समान ही चन्द्र लग्न को विशेष फल दायक माना गया है।
नीच भंग राजयोग में चन्द्र लग्न का बड़ा महत्व है।
श्रेष्ठ योजनाकारी के, राजपुरुषों के चन्द्रमा बहुत बली होना आवश्यक है। दूसरी तरफअपराधियों, पागल व्यक्ति, विकृत मानसिकता वाले व्यक्ति, कुटिल मन व्यक्ति, भावुक व्यक्ति इन सबका क्षीण या पापयुत चंद्र होता है। चन्द्रमा के साथ केतु जैसे ग्रह मन को हमेशा ही अशांत रखते हैं।
मानव शरीर के तीन गुण—सत्व, रज और तम से सम्बन्ध हो सकता है। सतोगुण एक शुद्ध और पवित्र मन का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। किसी व्यक्ति का राजस गुण निरंकुशता में बदल जाता है तो ऐसे व्यक्ति क्रोध और घृणा से ग्रसित हो जाते हैं।
जब किसी व्यक्ति के मन पर तमोगुण प्रभावी हो जाता है तो ऐसा व्यक्ति संवेदना शून्य हो जाता है और उसे मोहांश विशिष्ट कहते हैं ये अज्ञानता और निरंकुशता के दुर्गुणों के शिकार हो जाते हैं।
ज्योतिष में भी विभिन्न ग्रहों के यही गुण माने गए हैं !
जैसे—सूर्य, चन्द्र और गुरू = सात्विक
बुध और शुक्र = राजसिक
मंगल और शनि = तामसिक।
सूर्य के शत्रु ग्रह यथा राहु, गुण और केतु शरीर और आत्मा दोनों को हानि पहुंचाते हैं।
इसलिए इन राहु केतु आदि के गुण भी वही होंगे जो शनि और मंगल के हैं अर्थात् तामसिक।
सूर्य जगत की आत्मा है, चन्द्रमा मन, मंगल-पराक्रम-साहस -भूमि संगत कारोबार , बुध-वाणी-बुद्धी , गुरू बुद्धि-ज्ञान ओर नेतृत्व , शुक्र-वीर्य-सुंदरता -आकर्षण और शनि-कष्ट-व्याधि-न्याय और क्लेश। जब गुरू अथवा सूर्य का चन्द्रमा पर पूर्ण प्रभाव होता है |
ये सभी ग्रहो के अपने अपने- प्रभाव और हमारे जीवन मे बदलाव ये प्राकृतिक घटनाये हैं |
