लग्न -शरीर का
चंद्रमा -मन का !
सूर्य - आत्मा का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है !
आत्मा शरीर के बिना अपनी अभिव्यक्ति नहीं कर सकती ,शरीर का नियन्त्रण मन के आधीन है,और मन ही शरीर की ज्ञानेन्द्रियों एवं कर्मेन्द्रियों पर नियंत्रण करता है !इस कारण से चंद्रमा का महत्व बढ़ जाता है ! मन्त्रेश्वर ने भी फलदीपिका में चन्द्र लग्न से गोचर का विचार करने का निर्देश दिया है !
सभी प्रकार के लग्नों -
१-जन्म लग्न !
२-चन्द्र लग्न !
३- सूर्य लग्न !
के होते हुये भी गोचर विचार में महत्व प्रधानता चन्द्र लग्न की ही है ,बृहत्पाराशरहोरा शास्त्र में भी चन्द्र लग्न एवं जन्म लग्न दोनों को महत्वपूर्ण बताया है और दोनों लग्नों से फलित करने का आदेश मिलता है ! आधान लग्न सिद्धान्त के अनुसार चंद्रमा जब लग्न में हो उसी भाव में गोचर करता है जिस भाव में वह गर्भाधान के समय होता है अत: महत्व चंद्रमा का ही है !

Sun - represents the soul!

Notwithstanding the importance of transcendence in the transitory thought is that of the Moon ascendant, in the Brihatparasharhorra Shastra also both the lunar lagna and the birth lagna are important and the command to result from both ascendants is given! As per the Ascendant lagna theory, when the Moon is in the Ascendant, it transits in the same sense in which it is at the time of conception, so the importance of the Moon is!
