भारतीय ज्योतिष शास्त्र के अन्तर्गत प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की जन्म कुण्डली और ग्रहस्थिति पर उसके परिवार के सदस्यों के ग्रहों का भी प्रभाव पड़ता है, क्योंकि हर इंसान जन्म लेने के साथ ही अपना भाग्य लेकर भी आता है। हर जातक की जन्म कुण्डली एवं किस्मत उसके परिवार एवं खानदान के सदस्यों से जुड़ी होती है। अगर परिवार तथा खानदान के सदस्यों की जन्म कुण्डली अच्छी है तो व्यक्ति की कुण्डली भी अधिक शक्तिशाली होती है।
कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि शादी के बाद तरक्की करते चले गए तथा कुछ लोगों का यह भी कहना है कि शादी के बाद उनके ऊपर परेशानी का पहाड़ टूट गया।
जब कोई अपनी पत्नी को अपने घर लेकर जाता है और पत्नी की कुण्डली वक्री है, ग्रह अस्त या मृत अवस्था में हैं, तब उसके पति की सेहत में कामकाज में कोई न कोई परेशानी या रुकावट होगी। अगर पत्नी की कुण्डली में गुरु के साथ सप्तमेश भी पीड़ित है, तब पति के लिए और खराबी पैदा करते हैं।
अगर किसी व्यक्ति की संतान की कुण्डली में सूर्य, राहू केतु या शनि के साथ बैठा है या उनकी दृष्टि है, तब पिता के लिए कोई न कोई परेशानी पैदा करेगा। अगर संतान की कुण्डली में दशमेश अस्त, वक्री या मृत अवस्था में है या पीड़ित है, तब पिता के लिए कमी पैदा करेगा।
संतान की कुण्डली में जब शनि-राहू-केतु की महादशा-अन्तर्दशा आती है, तब माता-पिता के लिए समस्याएं पैदा होती हैं। सूर्य से पिता का विचार और चंद्रमा से माता का विचार किया जाता है।
शनि/राहू/केतु सूर्य-चंद्रमा के शत्रु हैं। इस कारण इन ग्रहों की महादशा-अन्तर्दशा में माता-पिता को कोई न कोई परेशानी अवश्य रहेगी, चाहे वह कामकाज की हो या सेहत संबंधी।
जब संतान की कुण्डली में राहू या केतु चौथे घर में बैठ जाते हैं तब भी माता-पिता के जीवन में कोई न कोई परेशानी पैदा करते हैं।
राहु-केतु दोनों ऐसे ग्रह हैं जिस घर में बैठते हैं उस घर को सुख से वंचित कर देते हैं इसलिए कुंडली देखते समय परिवार के सभी सदस्यों की कुण्डली अवश्य देखनी चाहिए तभी सही फलादेश हो जाएगा। अन्यथा फलादेश में अंतर आएगा।
