One view says that the Navadurga mentioned in the Durga Kavach composed by Brahmaji is enshrined in nine special medicines.
First form Shailputri (Harad)
Harda Himavati, a medicine used in many types of diseases, is a form of Goddess Shailputri. It is the primary medicine of Ayurveda. There are seven types of Pathaya, Haritika, Amrita, Hemavati, Kayastha, Chetki and Shreyasi.
Second form Brahmacharini (Brahmi)
Brahmi increases the age and memory, removes blood vessels and makes the voice melodious. Hence it is also called Saraswati.
Third form Chandraghanta (Chandusur)
It is a plant that is similar to coriander. This drug is beneficial in eliminating obesity, so it is also called Charmahanti.
Fourth form Kushmanda (Petha)
Petha sweets are made with this medicine. Therefore this form is called Petha. It is also called kumhada, which helps in clearing the stomach by removing blood disorders. This nectar is similar in mental diseases.
Fifth form Skandmata (flaxseed)
Skanda Mata ji who is present in linseed as medicine. It is a destroyer of Vata, Pitta and Kapha diseases.
Best form Katyayani (Moiya)
Goddess Katyayani is known by many names in Ayurveda such as Amba, Ambalika and Ambika. Apart from this, they are also called Moia. This drug destroys phlegm, bile and throat diseases.
Seventh form kalratri (nagadaun)
This goddess is known as Nagdaun medicine. It is beneficial in all types of diseases and to cure disorders of mind and brain.
VIII Swaroop Mahagauri (Tulsi)
There are seven types of Tulsi, white basil, black basil, maruta, davana, kudherak, earner and hexagon. It cleanses the blood and destroys heart diseases.
Ninth form Siddhidatri (asparagus)
The ninth form of Durga is Siddhidatri which is called Narayani Shatavari. It is useful for strength, intelligence and discretion.

प्रथम स्वरूप शैलपुत्री (हरड़)
कई प्रकार के रोगों में काम आने वाली औषधि हरड़ हिमावती है जो देवी शैलपुत्री का ही एक रूप है। यह आयुर्वेद की प्रधान औषधि है। यह पथया, हरीतिका, अमृता, हेमवती, कायस्थ, चेतकी और श्रेयसी सात प्रकार की होती है।
द्वितीय स्वरूप ब्रह्मचारिणी (ब्राह्मी)
ब्राह्मी आयु व याददाश्त बढ़ाकर, रक्तविकारों को दूर कर स्वर को मधुर बनाती है। इसलिए इसे सरस्वती भी कहा जाता है।
तृतीय स्वरूप चंद्रघंटा (चंदुसूर)
यह एक ऐसा पौधा है जो धनिए के समान है। यह औषधि मोटापा दूर करने में लाभप्रद है इसलिए इसे चर्महंती भी कहते हैं।
चतुर्थ स्वरूप कूष्मांडा (पेठा)
इस औषधि से पेठा मिठाई बनती है। इसलिए इस रूप को पेठा कहते हैं। इसे कुम्हड़ा भी कहते हैं जो रक्त विकार दूर कर पेट को साफ करने में सहायक है। मानसिक रोगों में यह अमृत समान है।
पंचम स्वरूप स्कंदमाता (अलसी)
स्कन्द माता जी जो औषधि के रूप में अलसी में विद्यमान हैं। यह वात, पित्त व कफ रोगों की नाशक औषधि है।
षष्ठ स्वरूप कात्यायनी (मोइया)
देवी कात्यायनी को आयुर्वेद में कई नामों से जाना जाता है जैसे अम्बा, अम्बालिका व अम्बिका। इसके अलावा इन्हें मोइया भी कहते हैं। यह औषधि कफ, पित्त व गले के रोगों का नाश करती है।
सप्तम स्वरूप कालरात्रि (नागदौन)
यह देवी नागदौन औषधि के रूप में जानी जाती हैं। यह सभी प्रकार के रोगों में लाभकारी और मन एवं मस्तिष्क के विकारों को दूर करने वाली औषधि है।
अष्टम स्वरूप महागौरी (तुलसी)
तुलसी सात प्रकार की होती है सफेद तुलसी, काली तुलसी, मरूता, दवना, कुढेरक, अर्जक और षटपत्र। ये रक्त को साफ कर हृदय रोगों का नाश करती है।
नवां स्वरूप सिद्धिदात्री (शतावरी)
दुर्गा का नौवां रूप सिद्धिदात्री है जिसे नारायणी शतावरी कहते हैं। यह बल, बुद्धि एवं विवेक के लिए उपयोगी है।
